Updated - November 02, 2026 at 12:35 PM.HDFC Bank shares fell 0.34 per cent to ₹690.45 on the NSE by 12.05 pm Monday, with sellers dominating heavily at 68.79 per cent against buyers at just 31.21 per cent. Traded volume reached 103.64 lakh shares worth ₹718.40 crore, with deliverable quantity at a notable 71.02 per cent, indicating sustained positional selling rather than intraday churn.
The decline follows a regulatory filing dated October 31, 2026, in which the bank disclosed that Sanjay D’Souza has superannuated from service at close of business on October 31, 2026. D’Souza served as Group Head of Business Banking, Emerging & Micro Enterprises Group and was a Senior Management Personnel of the bank. His departure ends a nearly 27-year association with the institution, during which he was credited with building the bank’s SME business.
The exit adds to an already crowded leadership transition. Within the past fortnight, the bank has seen MD & CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan step down, Anup Bagchi assume charge as the new MD & CEO on October 27, and Deputy Managing Director Kaizad Bharucha scheduled to exit by December.
The stock remains down 30.26 per cent year-to-date against the Nifty 50’s 10.87 per cent decline. The P/E stands at 13.34. Bank Nifty traded at 54,686, facing resistance at 55,100–55,490 and support at 54,400–54,170, with the broader banking index yet to show convincing recovery momentum.
